Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) pipes and Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) materials, including structural products, can offer significant carbon footprint savings when compared to traditional steel alternatives. This is due to the lower energy requirements needed for manufacturing and lower energy use throughout the product’s service life and the significantly lower energy consumed in the through life maintenance of the products.

Our Bondstrand fiberglass pipes and fittings can be used throughout this system, starting from the sea chests valves through to the inlet of the pumps located in the machinery spaces or pump rooms. And the outlet from the pumps through the bulkheads and into the suction/ discharge bell mouths.
Water Ballast and Bilge Systems
Installing scrubbers is one technology option to meet limits of exhaust emissions. The exhaust gas scrubber system cleans the exhaust gas to reduce SOx emissions to the appropriate legal limit which is now just 0.10% prior to release into the atmosphere. The highly corrosive nature of waste material produced during the scrubbing process leaves only two viable options for essential associated pipework - difficult to source and expensive special grade stainless steel or Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE)

Seawater is pumped continuously into the vessel from the sea chest and discharged once it has gone through the engine room’s heat exchangers. High-capacity centrifugal pumps are used to suck in and throw out high volumes of water in this loop continuously. The seawater removes heat from various heat exchangers. GRE Piping is best suited for this highly corrosive fluid medium.

Treatment or handling of black and grey water on board ships is becoming increasingly necessary as the requirements of MARPOL Annex IV have come into force. All ships must have some facilities to handle sewage, and our Bondstrand products move this sludge efficiently.

Heavy lift vessels are specialized cargo ships that are designed to transport oversized and heavy cargoes that are too large or heavy to be carried by standard cargo ships. These cargoes may include large pieces of equipment for the oil and gas industry, wind turbines, and other heavy machinery.
Heavy lift vessels have unique features that allow them to carry such heavy and oversized cargoes. They typically have a large open deck space with
high-strength, reinforced decks that can support heavy loads. They may also have multiple cranes and lifting equipment that can move the cargo on and off the ship. In some cases, they may also have adjustable ballast systems to ensure stability during loading and unloading operations.
Tankers are large ships designed to transport liquid cargoes, such as crude oil, refined petroleum products, chemicals, and liquefied natural gas (LNG). They have specialized storage tanks that are designed to safely carry and transport these liquids. Tankers are classified based on the type of cargo they carry, including Crude oil tankers, product tankers and Chemical tankers:
LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) carriers are specialized ships that are designed to transport liquefied natural gas from one location to another. LNG is a highly compressed and chilled form of natural gas that is converted to a liquid state for transport in order to reduce its volume and make it more practical to store and transport over long distances. LNG carriers have specialized tanks that are designed to carry LNG in a safe and stable manner. These tanks are typically made of high-strength materials such as steel or aluminium, and they are heavily insulated to maintain the LNG at a very low temperature of around -160 degrees Celsius.
Naval vessels are ships and boats that are owned and operated by navies around the world for military purposes. They are designed and built to perform a wide range of military functions, including maritime security, protection of shipping lanes, amphibious warfare, and submarine warfare, among others. Due to their critical role in national defence, naval vessels are subject to strict regulations and are maintained and operated to the highest standards of safety and readiness.
A Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) is a specialized ship designed for the installation of offshore wind turbines. These ships are used to transport and install the components of a wind turbine, including the tower, nacelle, blades, and other equipment. WTIVs are typically equipped with specialized cranes and other lifting equipment that are capable of lifting and positioning the heavy components of the wind turbine. They may also have an elevated deck area that allows for the assembly of the turbine components prior to installation. WTIVs are designed to operate in the challenging conditions of the offshore environment, which can include high waves, strong winds, and other hazards. Roll-on/roll-off (RORO) vessels are a type of ship designed to transport

Bulk carriers are large ships that are specifically designed to transport large quantities of unpackaged bulk cargo, such as coal, iron ore, grain, and other commodities. Unlike container ships, bulk carriers typically do not carry standardized cargo containers. Instead, they carry bulk cargo in their holds, which are large open areas within the ship's hull. Bulk carriers are designed to be efficient at loading and unloading cargo and to withstand the rigors of carrying large quantities of bulk cargo.
